About the Workshop |

The nematode Caenorhabditis elegans was established in the mid-1960s as a major laboratory model system, and many important discoveries in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology have since been spear-headed by the use of this organism. Only within the last 10 years however has C. elegans been increasingly used to address questions in evolutionary biology, together with a few other species of the same genus or family. This workshop will bring together researchers coming from diverse scientific backgrounds to discuss several topics in evolutionary biology ranging from breeding system evolution, to comparative developmental genomics. This workshop will be a privileged setting to lay the grounds for future research programs and international collaborations. |
